Speedway 95 saw the
debut of the "Orange 47" - the car with the paint scheme featuring orange on the
hood, top, and rear deck.
A mid-heat draw at a track where passing is extremely difficult during a short heat
resulted in a 6th place finish for Corey in Heat 1.
During a feature where only few cars
improved positions, Corey steadily worked his way forward. After being passed by eventual
winner Cassius Clark Corey made it up to a solid fifth spot for one of the later restarts.
But pushing hard, Corey went wide in turn four and got passed by a bunch of cars. With
little time left, 11th was the final result for the #47.
The car was strong and handled well
with the only problem of the day being a leaking valve cover that produced occasional
smoke. A great performance on a day where the top fifteen cars were all putting on a great
show.
