A long
day of racing blessed with beautiful weather started off with the #47 showing good speed,
posting a practice lap that was fourth fastest of the twenty-nine cars prepared to race.
Heat starting position were determined by a draw. Corey started ninth in the heat,
finished sixth, and was lined up sixteenth for the 250 lapper.
At the green, Corey picked up a couple of
spots, moving up to thirteenth by lap 15. As the laps rolled along, Corey ran
between 14th to 21st - the low point when he went a lap down on lap 105. But the speed had
gone away and Corey was hanging on, running with the second pack of cars. Corey
survived a 2 1/4 hour event at a tough track with little damage and no mechanical
problems - quite an accomplishment.
