A great weekend for Corey started with a trip to Oxford in
search of some racing after so much rain in New England has wiped out several weekends.
Corey posted a seventh place finish and got some needed seat time.
Sundays PASS race at
Thompson was threatedned by rain all day long, but
with a little schedule squeezing, the race was completed. The Heats and Dash were
scrapped with the grid set from time trials. Corey posted a 19.850 second lap for 10th
spot. The top ten redrew for spots and Corey drew a 2 to start on the outside of the
front row.
At the green, Corey
took the lead from J.R. Baril in the #7 and ran out front for the first 7 laps. For the
entire race Corey ran in 2nd to 4th, moving up and back at several different times - and
missing the wrecks that occurred behind the #47. Johnny Clark running strong at the end
took 3rd from Corey just 10 laps from the checkers. Corey was right on Ben Rowe's tail and
holding off Scott Mulkern as the flag fell.
And Corey posted the 2nd fastest race lap with a 19.953.
Congratulations to
Corey and Williams Brothers Racing for a fine show. |
