Beech
Ridge - Scarborough, ME - Sept. 25th
Pullen HI 300 - 29th - 6th in PASS PointsAn uphill battle all weekend long. A poor
draw (17th - last) in the heat combined with some quick cars produced a 10th place finish
when only 6 transferred to the feature. A dramatic tangle in the consi as a yellow flew
left the #47 behind a tow truck, bruised but repairable.
Sunday started with a fine run in the "B Main" from 12th on the grid up
to second in a 25 lap sprint. That earned a 27th starting spot for the 300 lap feature.
In the 300 Corey climbed smartly
thru the field up to 9th by lap 88, fell a bit after a pit stop for tires, and then moved
back into 9th for about an 80 lap run in the middle of the race. But a multi-car mess in
turn four left the #47 waiting for a tow truck again.
The 29th place finish didn't hurt
the points chase quite so much since this poorest finish of the season is offset by the
Unity race points. So Corey hangs onto 6th by a single car spot margin, 3162 to 3160!
